Nefertiti

Queen Nefertiti was the wife of Pharaoh lkhnaton who reigned in Egypt in the 14th century BC. She was renowned as a great beauty and looking at this elegant replica bust from her tomb it is easy to see why.

Isis

Isis, the powerful Goddess of forgiveness, acceptance, faith, hope and love. The people living along the Nile since prehistoric time worshipped her, but as her fame spread ancient peoples she became known as Diana, Minerva, Venus, Ceres, Juno and many other identities.

Anuhis, in later times became identified with the Osirian afterworld and was said to be the Son of Nephthys by Osiris. He was later adopted by Isis and assisted her in recovering and embalming the body of her husband

Sphinx

The sphinx is a human-headed lion the earthly representation of the sun god Ra who sits among the pyramid tombs to ward away evil spirits. A traditional story tells us that the sphinx sometimes asked passers-by riddles and swallowed them whole if they gave incorrect answers!

Akhnaton

Akhenaton also called Amenhotep IV pharaoh of Egypt from about 1350 to 1334 BC. He established the cult of Aton, or Aten, the sun god that he believed to be the sole creator of the universe. He built Amarna to honor this god and moved Egypt's capital there from Thebes.

Sebek (Sobik)

Sebek, the crocodile deity, was worshipped everywhere throughout Egypt in the Twelfth Dynasty. His most important sanctuary was in Upper Egypt at Kom Ombo. In Osirian belief Horus was said to have taken the crocodile form in order to retrieve the parts of Osiris's body cast into the Nile by Seth.
